I couldn't resist this super deals I found on the site backcountry.com. I got two pairs of super nice trail running shoes for $108. No shipping costs either. Awesome. I'll post my reviews of them soon here.
On a side note, I had to ride my trainer for the 2nd night in a row. I decide there are a few things l'd rather do (here they are in no particular order):
a) get a root canal
b) take a cold shower in the winter
c) have to watch rachel ray or kelly ripa for more than 5 minutes
d) ride a recumbent - okay, NOT!
I tried something new on the trainer last night that might get you past your 5 minute Ripa-Ray issue.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was running during CX season, 3x during the run I'd do a set up pushups, crunches, jumping jacks, plyometric stuff etc to essentially get a core workout and a run all-in-one.
So, last night on the trainer, I split up 3 long 15-20 minute hard big ringing slow cadence climbing type intervals with exercises in between. Also had the I-pod on while watching TV with the sound down. An hour and a half went by super quick and beat me down good. Inside Edition came one and I barely noticed.

ReplyDeleteI have to agree with "joe biker". Although you know I am getting worn out with the trainer. I have to break up my rides with intervals, mp3 and tv. Which (usually) helps the time go by quicker.
